April TBR Challenge -- The Tiara Club

So I decided to participate in Nice Mommy-Evil Editor's TBR challenge this month. We were to choose a book that's been in our TBR pile for at least six months. So here goes:

Title: The Tiara Club

Author: Beverly Brandt

Year Published: 2005

Why did you get this book? Freebie at RWA National

Did you like the cover? Honestly, it put me off a little. I'm not much into the whole pageant thing, and the four raised tiaras didn't scream "read me now!"

Did you enjoy the book? Yes! It was funny, heartfelt, emotional, and very enjoyable. Even the over-the-top moments were true to the story and the characters.

Was the author new to you and would you read something by this author again? I've read a few other books by the author, and enjoyed them. But I liked this one even more -- it was deeper, in many ways, and the story drew me in more than her earlier works. I was very impressed. I'll definitely read more by Ms. Brandt, and it won't wait on my bookshelf for so long this time.

Keeping it or passing it along? Actually, both. I've already recommended it to several friends, and loaned it to my neighbor.
